(Re)Vision is an exhibition of several dances created by student choreographers in which they were encouraged to explore several styles of dance that were of importance to the individual. This created a wide variety of pieces that showcased the limitless possibilities of dance and the imaginative possibilities of future generations of choreographers.

Abhinaya: A New Take on Indian Classical Dance

Choreographed by Diyansha Magesh, this dance piece proved the challenge of creating a colorful space for the dancers and the culture to shine while emphasizing the colorful attire worn in the piece. The dance itself was a battling and coexisting piece featuring the different aesthetics of Indian cultural dances.  Abinaya provided the wonderful challenge of creating differing colorful worlds in which the dancers lived while leaving room for the elaborate cultural garments to shine through and eventually combining the worlds in a form of coexisting discourse.

Phonological         Discourse

Kasey Baysa choreographs a complex existence between peace and chaos through their dance, and the dancers are constantly transported between these two different existences through the complexity of language-based communication styles and aesthetic music shifts. With a focus on specific moments where a lighting shift initiated the change in the dancers' intention, we worked together to create several environments where different forms of chaotic environments were present. I also wanted to highlight the importance of their bodily forms due to the humanization of movement through form.
